You're welcm, Mack! 😊 actually I got this idea from how i used to post on linkedin and then just thought of doing the same here! Glad to know you do this as well...and that certainly means that it works! And then I read the same thing in your Amazing article and thought of including it in the round up post! Can't wait to read more of your ideas, thak u again for sharing these so honestly, love the authencity 🩵
I really love your Notes strategy, and even more, your overall philosophy of putting genuine connection at the center of it all. 🫶 Thanks so much for sharing it!
yes please Lisa! that’s the entire point of why i shared it in the first place! i like to keep my fist open and share what i am learning with others…cause that’s how we all grow isnt it :)
Thanks for sharing this Yuvika, it made me think. I think I slip into bad notes habits at times. I do love reading as many of them as I have time for - it’s such a guilty pleasure these days.
You had me at cold cup of tea and Gilmore girls. This is one of the best guides around writing on Substack I've come across this week, it's completely relatable and I love how you layout your internalised thoughts and have woven it into your evening & Stars Hollow. I genuinely learned a lot, thanks for writing it 💚 Saved and subscribed!
so glad to know u liked it Jen! that’s exactly why i wrote it up. to help more writers like me who may be on the journey and would love a fellow writer’s ideas!! well, am a gilmore girls superfan so can’t help sprinkling lorelai’s wisdom everywhere, lol!
I love this because it makes Substack feel more human again. I have noticed this too, that a thoughtful comment can say much more about a person than a self-promotional post. It reminds me that people do not only follow what we write, they also notice how we show up in conversation.
that’s such a great way to describe it, Sara! i think that’s the whole point, right..treating people as people and simply having an honest conversation!
It is a fun journey. Figuring out what you like, what you nwrite and what really resonates. One of my favorite activities every evening is interacting with other creators on Substack. I have been batch writing and scheduling Notes for the week in one session. Helps my consistency.
I love it here on Substack! We have real conversations with real humans. I appreciate people who take the time to leave thoughtful comments, not just throwaway words. I think the world needs more of this human involvement.
Yuvika, the “tiny open door” language is the part that stayed with me. So much platform advice turns engagement into a tactic, but you are describing something more human: showing up before and after you post, leaving comments that carry actual thought, and treating the feed as a place where relationships can begin instead of a billboard for announcements. The Gilmore Girls comparison works because good Notes really do feel more like being welcomed into an ongoing conversation than being asked to consume another broadcast. Grateful for the practical generosity in sharing a routine that protects both consistency and connection.

Indeed, I am so grateful that your routine exists and that I have shamelessly stolen it! Thank you Yuvika.

Your graphics are really cute, btw. Do you have a design background or just a naturally good eye with Canva skills?
thank you for saying that! its a mix of both i guess :)
It shows!!
As a LinkedIn guy, I use this here too!
Ditto! And you just cant go wrong by being human, authentic in your engagement with others right!
Done ok for me over on LinkedIn! 😇
😊
You’ve made this sound easy! Thank you.
hey Carol, it is doable for sure! maybe try it out for a couple of days and see how it goes? i’m here if you have any questions..and will reply
Your notes strategy is very helpful and concise. I schedule mine as well because life gets in the way.
Yes to that for sure! life happens to everyone and scheduling just makes things so much more easier (and keeps my anxiety levels in place too!)
Would love for you to subscribe to my work! I will subscribe to yours as well .
thank you bradley!

that's true, Maria! i too love reading what other people write and so many times, just forget posting my own note, lol!

I found this post from Wes' notes boost and I'm glad I did. Your 30 minute notes routine makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
thank you John! glad to know you found this helpful! that’s the entire reason why i thought of sharing what i was doing :)

This is so helpful from someone who started last week!

thank u for your thoughtful comment! i think for me ‘being human’ as the strategy has been working pretty great and i intend to keep doing just that
